We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, password, resume/CV data, employment and education history, skills, and job preferences. When you use the platform we also collect usage data (pages visited, searches, and features used), device and connection data (IP address, browser type, and operating system), and data gathered through cookies and similar technologies.
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session, and analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. Analytics are provided by Google Analytics. You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the platform from working.
We use your information to provide and improve our job-matching services, personalise your experience, generate and display matches between your profile and roles, communicate with you about opportunities and account activity, process payments for paid features, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (to operate your account and provide the service), your consent (for optional communications and certain cookies), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the platform), and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
We share your profile and application data with an employer only when you apply for a role with that employer or otherwise make your profile available to them. We share data with the service providers (processors) listed below to operate the platform. We disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights and users. We do not sell your personal data. We may share anonymised, aggregated data that cannot identify you.
We rely on the following processors, each acting on our instructions and under a data processing agreement:
Some of our processors operate outside your country of residence. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection through appropriate safeguards, consistent with the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and the GDPR.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service. After you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records to meet legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations. You may request deletion at any time as described in Your Rights.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to detect and respond to incidents.
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Kenya) and affected users without undue delay, as required by the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and, where applicable, the GDPR.
Subject to the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and the GDPR, you have the right to access your data, request rectification of inaccurate data, request erasure (the right to be forgotten), request data portability, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent.
